Scope and responsibility
This notice applies to personal information collected through granyosoy.org and its public forms. It does not govern an unrelated website or service merely because this site links to it.
Gran Yo Soy is responsible for decisions about information collected through this site. Its exact registered entity details are still being verified for public disclosure. For privacy questions or requests, use the contact in the final section. The policy version reserved for the current form implementation is 2026-08-21.
Information forms may collect if enabled
While forms remain closed, Gran Yo Soy does not accept the form categories listed below. Limited technical data comes from the visitor’s browser, network request, and the services used to deliver and protect the website. If intake opens, an authorized adult or professional may provide limited information about someone else only when they have an appropriate basis to do so.
| Context | Information | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Support or contact interest | Name, email, preferred area or amount of support, optional message, consent and policy version, submission time. | Respond to the request, keep an accurate consent record, and communicate about the stated interest. |
| Volunteer interest | Name, email, optional phone, country, areas of interest, optional message, consent and policy version, submission time. | Review volunteer interest, communicate about appropriate opportunities, and support safeguarding and administration. |
| Community membership interest | Name, email, country, participation interest, consent and policy version, submission time. | Review membership interest and communicate only within the approved participation and consent scope. |
| Child or community-health referral inquiry | Adult submitter name and contact details, broad location, authority or relationship to the person concerned, a limited situation summary, acknowledgments, consent and policy version, submission time. | Conduct an initial, non-emergency inquiry review and, when appropriate and available, arrange follow-up by an authorized program contact. |
| Website and security data | Page or route, timestamp, referrer, approximate location derived by the service, device/browser characteristics, and technical logs such as request or error information. | Deliver and secure the site, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate site use. |
Fields and exact content vary by form. Gran Yo Soy asks visitors not to provide sensitive details that are not necessary for initial contact. Information sent in a free-text box may nevertheless reveal additional details, so please write with care.
How we use information
- respond to the specific inquiry or expression of interest;
- evaluate whether a requested program, membership, or volunteer follow-up is appropriate and available;
- record consent, acknowledgments, policy version, and a retention-review date;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and forms;
- detect spam, misuse, security incidents, or repeated submissions;
- create aggregate or de-identified operational reporting; and
- meet a valid legal obligation or protect a person’s safety where appropriate.
Gran Yo Soy does not sell or rent form information and does not use it for cross-site behavioral advertising. A support-interest submission does not authorize unrelated marketing. If an email subscription is added later, it should use separate, specific consent and an unsubscribe method.
Retention and deletion review
Each accepted form record receives a retention-review target. Reaching that date triggers review; it does not mean every copy disappears automatically at that instant. At review, the record should be deleted, de-identified, or retained for a documented active need. Backups and provider records may take additional time to cycle out.
| Record | Review target | Review action |
|---|---|---|
| Support and general interest inquiries | Review 12 months after submission | Delete or de-identify unless follow-up is still active or a longer period is required. |
| Volunteer interest records | Review 24 months after submission | Delete or de-identify if there is no active volunteer relationship or documented operational need. |
| Community membership interest records | Review 12 months after submission | Delete or de-identify unless membership follow-up remains active and consent remains valid. |
| Child or community-health referral inquiries | Review 12 months after submission | Delete or de-identify unless continued coordination, safeguarding, or a legal obligation requires limited retention. |
| Security and operational logs | The shortest period supported by the service and needed to investigate reliability or abuse | Access is restricted; logs should not intentionally contain form narratives or health information. |
A longer period may apply where there is an active relationship, safeguarding need, dispute, security investigation, or recordkeeping obligation. A shorter period may apply when information is not needed, was submitted without appropriate authority, or presents unnecessary risk.
Children and health-related inquiries
- Do not send a child’s full name, exact home address, birth date, identity number, diagnosis, medical record, image, school, or documents in the initial form.
- Provide only a broad community or city and the minimum summary needed to understand who should make contact.
- Do not use the form for an emergency, diagnosis, treatment instruction, or time-critical request. Contact local emergency services or a qualified local professional.
- Submission does not create a clinician-patient relationship or guarantee eligibility, availability, response, referral, treatment, or confidentiality equivalent to a secure clinical-record system.
If Gran Yo Soy learns that a child submitted information directly or that information was provided without appropriate authority, it may delete or restrict the record after taking any proportionate safeguarding step that is reasonably necessary.
Analytics, cookies, and browser storage
In production, this website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page use. Vercel states that standard Web Analytics stores anonymized, aggregated data, does not use cookies for visitor identification, and resets the request-derived visitor hash each day. It can process the page path, time, referrer, approximate geography, operating system, browser, and device type. Read Vercel’s analytics privacy documentation.
Gran Yo Soy does not intentionally send form fields, names, email addresses, health narratives, or other sensitive information in analytics events or page addresses. The site does not currently use advertising cookies. A theme preference may be saved in local browser storage on the visitor’s device; essential authenticated administration features may use a secure session cookie.
If advertising, embedded media, chat, CAPTCHA, a donation processor, or additional analytics is introduced, this notice and any consent controls must be reassessed before the feature is enabled.
Security and international processing
Gran Yo Soy uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to limit unauthorized access, including access controls, validation, and secure transport. No internet service can promise absolute security. Email is not a secure channel for medical records, identity documents, or other highly sensitive material.
Website providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they or their subprocessors operate. Authorized program follow-up may involve people in Venezuela or another relevant location. Privacy protections and access practices may differ across locations; Gran Yo Soy should minimize what is transferred and use provider safeguards appropriate to the information and relationship.
As a New York organization, Gran Yo Soy is subject to New York’s data-security and breach notification requirements for private information about New York residents. If Gran Yo Soy determines that private information was acquired or accessed without authorization, it will notify affected people and any required authorities without unreasonable delay, consistent with applicable law and the needs of a legitimate investigation. Notice will describe what happened, the categories of information involved, and the steps a person can take.
Your choices and privacy requests
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, a person may ask Gran Yo Soy to:
- confirm whether the site holds information about them;
- provide a copy of information they submitted;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- delete or restrict information that is no longer needed;
- withdraw consent for future optional contact; or
- object to a particular use and receive an explanation of the response.
Submit a request using the contact below. To protect the person concerned, Gran Yo Soy may ask for proportionate verification and may be unable to fulfill part of a request where retention is reasonably necessary for safety, security, an active matter, another person’s rights, or an applicable obligation. Gran Yo Soy will explain the response when it can do so safely.
Changes and contact
Material changes to this notice will be shown by a new effective or last-updated date. Where a change substantially affects information already collected, Gran Yo Soy will use a proportionate notice or renewed-consent process when appropriate.
