A website more people can use

Gran Yo Soy aims to make its website and public forms usable by people with diverse visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive, speech, and neurological needs. The current development target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

The site is being developed with the following practices:

• semantic landmarks and a logical heading hierarchy;
• keyboard access and visible focus indicators for interactive controls;
• labels, instructions, and understandable error messages for form fields;
• color contrast that does not rely on color alone to communicate meaning;
• reflow and readable text across small screens and increased text size;
• alternative text or an appropriate decorative treatment for images;
• reduced-motion support and content that does not depend on animation to appear;
• descriptive link text and appropriately named controls; and
• plain-language summaries for legal, privacy, and program boundaries.

Gran Yo Soy intends to support current versions of major browsers and common mobile and desktop assistive technologies. The site is designed to work with keyboard navigation, browser zoom, text resizing, high-contrast preferences, dark or light color preferences, and reduced-motion settings.

Older or highly customized browsers, extensions, translated pages, and third-party services may behave differently. When a critical task cannot be completed, use the feedback channel below so an accessible alternative can be explored.

• A complete manual keyboard, screen-reader, zoom, contrast, and mobile orientation review is still required before a conformance claim can be made.
• Media provenance, alternative text, and the need for extended descriptions are being reviewed; unverified media may be replaced.
• The current public experience is primarily in English. Spanish translations and a language-selection experience require human review before they can be relied on for beneficiary-facing information.
• External websites and services reached through a link are controlled by their respective operators and may not meet the same target.

This list is not necessarily exhaustive. Newly discovered barriers will be added when doing so helps visitors understand an affected task and available alternative.

• the page address and the task you were trying to complete;
• what happened and what you expected;
• your browser, device, and assistive technology, if you are comfortable sharing them; and
• the format or alternative that would help you access the information.

Do not include passwords, identity documents, payment information, medical records, or a child’s identifying information. If email itself is a barrier, say so through a trusted person who can contact Gran Yo Soy; an additional public contact method will be published after it is operationally verified.

Gran Yo Soy aims to acknowledge accessibility feedback and provide a substantive response as capacity allows, but does not publish a guaranteed response time until staffing and monitoring are verified.

Accessibility should be evaluated through automated checks plus human review with keyboards, screen readers, zoom and reflow, reduced motion, touch, and representative mobile devices. Automated tools alone cannot establish conformance.

This statement will be updated after material design changes, a completed accessibility evaluation, or discovery of a significant barrier. The date above records the latest published review of this statement.
